Are You Ready?

The majority of people believe that emergencies and disasters could never happen to them…so when something does happen, they are woefully unprepared. “Survivalists” are not people who have left homes and jobs to live off roots and berries in the woods. A survivalist is a person who is prepared and ready to meet any challenge.
It’s time to start to build an ark!
The need to be prepared is evident all around us, and we can do much by gathering information that is pertinent to our own situation, and then use it in assessing the potential hazards and problems we might experience. Information can be obtained from various sources, and much of it is free or of very little expense. Check with your public library, American Red Cross or other emergency response organizations. FEMA and the National Safety Council have publications for virtually any emergency or hazard related topic imaginable. There are also companies that specialize in emergency preparedness and provide valuable resources for information. Once information has been collected, you can begin to start preparing yourself and your family. As you make emergency preparedness a priority, you will be surprised at how quickly you become prepared and how much comfort the peace of preparedness can bring. Another goal could be to encourage your neighbors and family members to start preparing as you are.
Just look at the emergencies that have happened in recent memory:
- Hurricanes | Flooding | Power Outages | Chemical Spills | Earthquakes
- Tornadoes & Wind Damage | Layoffs & Stock Market Woes
- Wildfires | Ice Storms | Flooding | Terrorist Attacks | Illness/Quarantine
And so we ask… are you ready? If you have no electricity, how will you cook and stay warm? If city water supplies become contaminated, what will you drink? If the police come to your door with an evacuation order, are you ready to go?
Provident Living can help you to be ready for anything!
This is the year to give gifts of preparedness to help your family members and loved ones get prepared.
